All of Pierde Alma’s mezcal agave hearts are baked in underground earthen ovens for six days. These baked hearts are then milled under a stone horse drawn wheel, and then patiently (and without chemicals), fermented. Distillation takes place in wood-fired, serpentine copper pot alembic whose design has not changed much in hundreds of years.
Pierde Almas Espadín Mezcal is Joven or young (with no barrel aging at bottling), is a handcrafted mezcal made of 100% agave (Agave angustifolia), and is presented at 50.2% alcohol to enhance the artisanal experience.
Pierde Almas Espadín’s bouquet is slightly smoky with hints of aromatic wood and wild flowers. Its effect on the palate is of prolonged duration with a velvety texture and smooth, fresh tones of quince and anise in the aftertaste.
